Dahlia Watercolor Brunch

$150.00

Sunday, September 14, 2025
10:00 am-12:30 pm

Join us for a creative morning among the dahlias at Ferris Farm, with a special collaboration featuring artist Emma Ballou and Milkweed Coffee Roasters.

You'll begin with a peaceful walk through the farm’s private dahlia field to snip a few favorite blooms. Take your time exploring—the flowers you gather will become your inspiration.

Then settle in for a relaxed watercolor workshop with Emma. This beginner-friendly session invites you to observe, explore, and express the beauty of dahlias through watercolor. Emma will offer gentle guidance on color mixing, brush technique, and capturing floral shapes. No experience needed, and all materials are provided.

As you paint, sip freshly brewed Milkweed coffee and enjoy a delicious spread of local pastries, surrounded by flowers in bloom.

This is an intimate, exclusive event celebrating art, flowers, and community during the peak of dahlia season. Limited spots available.

Event Details:

  • Pre-registration is required

  • Ages 12 and up welcome

  • All painting materials will be provided

  • Rain or shine — in case of rain, the event will move into the barn, where a bouquet bar will be set up for inspiration

  • All sales are final; tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred to a friend if you're unable to attend

About Ferris Farm
Ferris Farm is a small, family-run flower farm in Buxton, Maine, where Jessica and her husband grow over 2,000 dahlias alongside a thoughtful mix of seasonal blooms. The dahlia field is typically closed to the public, making events like this a special chance to enjoy the flowers up close during their late-summer bloom.

Rooted in a childhood spent exploring rural Maine, her work reflects a deep connection to trees and a sense of place. She paints from a converted barn studio on her 10-acre homestead, where the changing seasons fuel her creativity. Learn more at emmaballou.com or @emmaballouart on Instagram.
