ABOUT OUR TUBER COLLECTION

After nearly a decade of growing dahlias here in Maine, I’ve learned which varieties truly earn their place in the field and in the garden.

These are the dahlias I come back to year after year. The Tried & True varieties. Dependable growers. Generous bloomers. Dahlias that handle our seasons well and store reliably through winter.

Alongside them, you’ll also find a small number of other special varieties that are newer to our fields or simply ones I love growing. These are healthy, beautiful dahlias grown with the same care and attention, offered in more limited quantities.

Every tuber in this collection was grown, dug, divided, and stored right here at Ferris Farm by a dedicated team of two, myself and my husband. From the field to storage, we handle every step. These are dahlias we trust, and we’re really glad to share them with you.

Our dahlia tubers are sold individually and are guaranteed to have at least one visible growing eye. All tubers are grown on our farm in Maine and handled entirely by us, from planting and harvesting to division and storage. We do not resell tubers from other growers. Our dahlias are grown in balance with nature, without the use of any chemicals.

OUR GUARANTEE

All dahlia tubers ship in April 2026, once temperatures allow for safe shipping. Orders are prioritized by order date and growing zone.

A flat $15 shipping fee applies to all orders to cover the cost of materials and shipping. Orders of $200 or more ship free. All orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail.

Orders may be combined for shipping. To request combined shipping, please email jessica@ferrisfarmflowers.com after placing your orders and include all order numbers. Orders will only be combined if we receive an email request. Extra shipping charges will be refunded once all tuber orders have shipped.

You’ll receive an email notification with tracking information once your order ships.

SHIPPING

If you select farm pick up, you will receive an email in March detailing pick up options. Farm pick up will take place in April 2026. We’re unable to accommodate pick ups before April.

FARM PICK UP

Please inspect your tubers upon arrival. If you have concerns related to shipping damage or tuber quality, email jessica@ferrisfarmflowers.com within 48 hours of delivery and include clear photos. Claims submitted without photo documentation will not be reviewed.

Once tubers are in your care, Ferris Farm is not responsible for tubers drying out or rotting during post-shipment storage, growing conditions, improper planting, poor care, pest damage, weather, or other losses beyond our control.

If we experience stock loss between the time your order is placed and when it ships, and we’re unable to fulfill your order, you’ll be notified by email and refunded accordingly. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

CLAIMS & CONCERNS

PLANT HEALTH & SANITATION

All of our dahlias are grown, dug, divided, and stored right here at Ferris Farm. We are a small, hands-on operation, just myself and my husband, which allows us to maintain consistent and careful practices throughout each process.

Tools are sanitized when harvesting flowers and between clumps during tuber division. Plants are monitored throughout the growing season, and any that appear suspicious or stunted are removed from the field. We do not use chemical sprays on our plants, organic or otherwise.

Even with careful growing and sanitation practices, dahlias can carry viruses without showing visible symptoms. While it isn’t possible to guarantee that any dahlia is completely virus-free, we only offer tubers from healthy, productive plants that have performed well for us in the field.

Thank you for supporting our small family farm. Every dahlia tuber represents a full season of care here, and we’re truly grateful to share them with you. We hope they bring beauty, joy, and an abundance of blooms to your garden.
